01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dessert experience, look no further than Siroo Rice Cake Cafe located at 981 Victoria Rd, West Ryde, NSW. This charming cafe specializes in traditional Korean rice cakes, offering a variety of unique and delicious options that will tantalize your taste buds.

The atmosphere at Siroo is welcoming and relaxed, making it an ideal spot for small gatherings or a casual outing with friends. With a simple yet inviting decor, the space feels both airy and cozy, allowing you to fully enjoy your treat without feeling cramped. However, be prepared—this beloved spot can get busy, especially during peak hours, so plan accordingly if you’re coming with a larger group.

Now, let’s talk about the star of the show: the menu. Each item is crafted with care, balancing flavors and textures that will transport you straight to the heart of Korea. Indulge in the Mung Bean Rice Cake or the Steamed Pumpkin Rice Cake, both priced at A$8.00. These glutenous treats are a perfect harmony of chewiness and sweetness. If you're looking for something a bit more indulgent, the Caramelised Sticky Rice Cake (A$8.50) offers a rich nutty flavor that is truly scrumptious.

For those seeking a refreshing dessert option, don’t miss the Green Tea Bingsoo. This delightful concoction combines finely shaved ice with green tea powder, fruit, and red bean, making it a perfect way to cool down. Customers have raved about its deliciousness, with one enthusiastically recommending the large size as it’s enough to share, or perhaps not—it's that good!

The positive feedback from patrons reinforces the quality of Siroo's offerings. Customer 'YS' captured the spirit of the cafe, mentioning delectable bingsoo and variety in rice cake selections, emphasizing the cafe's popularity but also noting the challenges in securing seating during busy hours. Yvonne Y shared a taste of her delightful experience with the sticky rice cake and a black sesame latte, a combo that proved to be both comforting and indulgent.

While the service is primarily self-serve, the attentive staff has garnered praise; Shallon Wu highlighted her experience where the staff promptly responded to an accident, exemplifying their friendliness and care. Yet, as Dean Lawrence noted, packaging improvements for carryout orders would enhance the overall customer experience, as sometimes, presentation aligns with the taste perception.

In summary, Siroo Rice Cake Cafe is more than just a place to satisfy your sweet tooth; it’s a destination where you can immerse yourself in the rich and delightful flavors of authentic Korean rice cakes. Whether you are a local or just passing through West Ryde, this café promises an enjoyable and memorable treat. Grab a friend or two and take a leisurely break at Siroo—you’ll surely be planning your next visit before you even finish your first!

Extremely crowded. Delicious bingsoo and rice cakes. Great place for desserts. Difficult to find seats on a busy night. Better for small groups of four or less people. A bit pricey but good portion size. A small bingsoo could be shared between two or three people. They have a wide variety of rice cakes. No much service. Order at the counter and self pick up from the counter.

Went to this café yesterday and had the sticky rice cake and black sesame latte — both were absolutely delicious! The place has a simple, down-to-earth decor, but it’s surprisingly spacious and perfect for a small gathering. Will definitely be back!

A cute little cafe for all your Korean rice cake needs!! Fresh and chewy and yummy. Nice to go here for dessert after your delicious K BBQ at Stone Age or the new spot, Binchotan. My fave is the green tea Bing Soo (Korean shaved ice dessert). Fruit, rice cake, green tea powder, red bean, ice cream and shaved ice. You might need to get the large

It's one of the best cafes in Sydney. Offering afternoon coffee with rice cake combo. Latte is hot and super delicious. The staff is wonderful and caring. I accidentally spilled my coffee, she came to clean up immediately and brewed me a new one. Appreciated!!

Ordered aud80 amount of rice cakes and they were great but the packing was hard to carry as their only available plastic bag was too small, so would be better to have proper plastic bag like pizza place to be able to carry multiple boxes. Sometimes presentation is as important as contents itself. The rice cakes were great but the honey ones had unmelted sugar, causing chewing unpleasant sometimes, so pls ensure they are warm enough to melt them before packing, as they are ready to serve. Awesome drink menu but red bean matcha? was not as expected, too thick and sweet to drink using the narrow paper straw.
